M&M Video Games opened at 1211 1st Ave. N in the EDGE District on Friday, December 12.

In-store specials kicked off the weekend. Open play spaces welcome gamers. Sealed tournaments will happen Saturday and Sunday.

The shop operates as a buyer and seller destination while doubling as a place where people play games. Inside, thousands of video game consoles and titles span from Atari through Xbox generations.

Guests can purchase unlimited play passes to spend an entire day gaming. Free open play periods let visitors grab controllers and use screens without paying.

"The gaming community here has won us over, and we couldn't be happier to have our new, permanent home to share with all of you," the owners said in an announcement, per I Love the Burg.

The business built its following at events around town before establishing this permanent spot. Writer Andrew Harlan described the concept as "paradise" in a previous review.

Working retro consoles are available for purchase in addition to hosting gaming sessions. Players discover equipment and titles spanning decades of home gaming history.

The new spot sits next door to Zubrick Magic Theater, marking the only destination of its kind in the area.

Updates about events and open play schedules appear on the company's Instagram.
